History of Dickies

Dickies was founded in 1922 by C.N. Williamson and E.E. ‘Colonel’ Dickie. Dickies started to sell workwear to farmers around the company in Texas. Dickies workwear started making their first big growth during the World War II. The company was sequestered to produce millions of uniforms for the nation's armed forces. In the late 1950's, Williamson-Dickie became an international company by expanding into the European market and the Middle Eastern market - where Texas oilmen introduced the Dickies brand to Middle Eastern oil fields.
Nowadays Dickies claims to be the number one manufacturer of work apparel worldwide. Dickies® workwear is currently sold in all of the United States of America and throughout the world in countries such as South Africa, Australia, Russia, Chile, Japan, Iceland, Canada, Europe and Mexico.
Fun fact, in Europa Dickies is known as a skate brand. The dickies work pants are super populair in the skate community. Dickies also had a very successful collaboration with the streetwear brand Obey. Check the entire Dickies x Obey collection that includes the classic Dickies work pants, work shirt, T-shirt, hoodie, crewneck and a cool reversible bucket hat. The original work wear from Dickies doesn’t appear that often in Europa, but the solid quality the company offers is obviously within all of their garments.
